There’s no doubt about it. Directories are amazing! As comprehensive, centralized hubs for your most important stakeholders’ contact details and activity records, Directories enable innovative approaches to design, distribution, and analysis.
But while Directories make email and SMS invitations more powerful, their distribution potential doesn’t stop there! Utilizing QR codes, website feedback forms, social media, or other Shareable URLs to collect feedback? Link responses received to your Directory! This option provides plenty of flexibility, enabling you to connect with participants across a wider range of channels while deepening your data analysis insights.
This feature is available in accounts with Directory enabled, and can be used with Text Box, Radio Button, Horizontal Radio Button, and Dropdown question types.
To utilize this feature, follow the steps below:
- Set up the Directory that will be used to link to your project.
- Create a project and add a Text Box, Radio Button, Horizontal Radio Button, or Dropdown question in the survey. This question will serve as the identifier that will enable you to map each response to the Directory.
- While adding the question, navigate to the left-hand panel and click on Link Response to Directory.
If you’ve already created your question and are now ready to make the connection, hover over your question in Design, click the three-dot menu, and select this option here.
- Upon choosing to link responses, an introductory message explaining the feature will appear.
- After acknowledging the introductory message, a modal will open, allowing you to configure your Link Response to Directory settings.
- Next, select the Contact type for which you want to link responses to the Directory. The available contact types are Respondent and Feedback Recipient:
- Respondent: Links Directory data to the participant of the project. [For example, a customer rating their experience after a support call.]
- Feedback Recipient: Links Directory data to the contact receiving feedback as responses to this project. [For example, the employee who helped the customer on that support call.]
In a single survey, only one question can be linked to each Contact type. Once a Contact type is assigned to a question, that option will be automatically disabled for all other compatible questions to ensure a single association.
- Select the Directory from which you want to link data.
- Choose the unique field from the Directory that will be used to compare the response of the linked question.
- All set? Click Done. Need to make a change? Click Reset to clear all applied settings and start again.
- Once you click Done, the Link Response to Directory settings will be applied.
- When a participant answers this linked question, the Sogolytics platform checks if the answer matches a Directory Contact. If a match is found, the Contact information is automatically added to the participant’s response. You can view the linked data in Data exports.
